Paddle from Willow Beach to Cranes' Nest Cove and Hike up Cranes' Nest Canyon:

This is a half day trip, our most popular kayaking-hiking half day trip, and the less arduous of any of our combination trips, with about 8 miles of paddling and about 2 miles of hiking. Cranes' Nest Canyon is short but very scenic. This trip is very similar to our Crane's Nest Rapids (rapids in name only as there are no rapids now) paddle trip but with an added emphasis on doing a short hike once we get there.

To get to Cranes' Cove, we'll paddle upstream from Willow Beach, Arizona. You can see from looking at the aerial view that we'll be hiking a narrow canyon. We'll see flora not often seen in the surrounding desert. This is a classic desert canyon hike; with a little bit of rock scrambling but well worth the visit.

See desert animals and vegetation of Lake Mead; Mojave Desert Flora and Fauna.
