Paddle from Temple Bar to Teal Cove and Hike to White Mesa:
This is a full day trip, with about 7 miles of paddling and about 5 miles of hiking. Again, this is to an area almost no one explores by kayak or on foot.
To get to Teal Cove, we'll paddle around Heron Point and across Trail Rapids Bay. You can see from looking at the aerial view that we'll hike narrow serpentine canyons, cross over open valleys, and climb onto and hike a flat mesa. After we leave the first canyon, much of the hiking will be on burro trails. This is a classic desert hike where we'll explore the desert geology and the flora and fauna.
